How was I assigned the name that appears in the Author column when I post a message?

The name that appears in the Author column when you post a message is called your Discussion Group alias. By default, your Discussion Group alias is the first letter of your first name followed by your last name (as entered when you created your profile). You may change your Discussion Group alias at any time. To do so:

  • Click My Profile in the navigation.
  • Click Change your Discussion Group alias.
  • Follow the instructions on the page to make the change.

How long will it take for the moderator to answer my question?

Our instructors review the Discussion Group at least every other day from the Discussion Group start date, so you should receive a response within that timeframe after posting your question. However, if other students have already answered your question correctly, the instructor may pass your question without giving an additional response.

How will I know when someone has responded to my question?

When someone responds to your message, a red dot will appear next to your topic on the main Discussion Group page. Click the topic to review the full text of your original message and the response.
