How do I enroll in a Discussion Group?

Before you can access a Discussion Group on the Atkins Learning Center site, you need to enroll. It only takes a minute or so to enroll and when you're done, you'll be able to interact with your fellow students and consult with the Discussion Group moderator.

To enroll in a Discussion Group:

  • On the Atkins Learning Center home page, click on the title of the Discussion Group you are interested in to get a description of the group.This description includes the start and end dates for the Discussion Group.
  • Click the Enroll Now button. If the site prompts you to log in, complete the registration process if you are a new user, or log in if you are a returning user.

What if the Discussion Group I want to take has already started? Can I still enroll?

You can enroll in a Discussion Group at any time -- even after Discussion Groups have begun. Discussion Groups are accessible on the Discussion Group start date. Once a Discussion Group has started, you are free to read and post whenever it is convenient for you. All posts remain accessible on the website 24/7 until the Discussion Group end date. Your moderator will be happy to answer questions during the Discussion Group session.

What if a Discussion Group I want to take is full?

Each Discussion Group has an enrollment limit. If the Discussion Group you wish to enroll in is full, fill out the Notify Me form and we will e-mail you when the next session of the Discussion Group becomes available for enrollment.

How long does a Discussion Group last?

Each Atkins Learning Center Discussion Group session lasts for three months. The start and end date for each Discussion Group session is posted on the site; you can read posts and participate in the Discussion Group until the Discussion Group end date.
